Government requires companies to commit to net zero to bid for contracts over £5m

The Cabinet Office has recently launched guidance in the form of a Public Policy Note (PPN 06/211) and related guidance on taking account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the procurement of major government contracts. It applies to all Central Government Departments, their Executive Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies, where the value of services is anticipated to exceed £5m per annum. CCL Secure UK achieves impressive 20.5% reduction in their carbon footprint

Verco are delighted to have worked with CCL Secure to set a pathway to carbon neutrality with the aim of becoming carbon neutral by the end of 2022. Through a combination of investment in the right technology, efficiency improvements and process innovations CCL Secure UK have now made a considerable and impressive 20.5% reduction in their carbon footprint per tonne of product (Scope 1, 2 and 3), against 2018 baseline year, without the need for offsets or market instruments. Verco continues to support their ongoing zero carbon journey.
