Be part of a company that is making an impact
The world is changing
Leaders in their sectors are taking on the net zero mantle, setting serious targets, strategies and truly making a difference.
This is an extremely exciting time for our growing business, the demand for zero carbon solutions has never been so great. Our clients value our expertise, built on the experience of 30 years in the sustainability sector.

We make a difference
We work on impactful projects across the world, helping our clients with a range of increasingly important challenges from informing strategy and long-term target setting, to delivering results on the ground through our energy management teams.
We work across a wide range of sectors from food and drink, packaging, retail, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and FMCG. We have many clients with whom we have worked with for 10 years or more. As our client list continues to grow so does the need for talented team members. Examples of how we have grown in sectors are in dairy and brewing. We work with four of the largest dairy companies in the UK and support companies who combined are responsible for 1 in every 3 beers consumed around the world!
Since joining Verco 4 years ago I have worked in Brazil, Mexico and Belgium. I have had the opportunity to get involved in lots of projects such as Deep Dive Brewery Audits and Science-Based Target setting work and am now specialising in value chain services, an area that is rapidly becoming more prevalent as clients seek to understand and influence their value chain emissions.

A community of talented, mission driven professionals
Our vision is to provide the solutions for a zero carbon world. We care about the environment and worldwide community we are a part of and are proud to be a B Corp. At the end of 2020 we achieved our goal to be net zero carbon. Our dedicated CSR team work to improve our carbon footprint as well as organising foodbank donations, volunteering days and initiatives such as plastic free week and cycle to work week. We also have STEM ambassadors which are supported by Verco with time and resource to encourage young people into science, technology, engineering and maths disciplines.
I joined Verco as a Junior Consultant and was quickly given responsibility for various metering and data collection projects across the UK and abroad. I am now getting involved in energy audits and project management as I’ve progressed onto consultant over the last 3 years. The team I work with are very passionate and we support and learn from each other. As a STEM ambassador I have attended events to encourage young people to pursue careers in engineering and mentored girls who are considering studying engineering at University via the Stemettes social enterprise.

A flexible working environment where you will be challenged and rewarded
We have always had a flexible working policy which has never been needed more than during lockdown. Homeworking and flexible hours were already part of our working practices. During lockdown, staff have been able to adjust working patterns to fit with personal demands such as homeschooling. When in the office a lunchtime walk and sociable eating (rather than al-desko) is encouraged.
In our fast-paced consultancy, support, personal development and wellbeing are important. As well as half-yearly personal development reviews, staff are given the opportunity to complete wellness action plans. All staff are invited to our weekly ‘knowledge share’ sessions where we present and discuss a myriad of relevant topics and innovations. We have regular social events which have been curbed not cancelled with lockdown, for example staff have been sent delicious locally made brownies for our monthly company coffee mornings and we have been setting ourselves lockdown challenges including creations with cocktail making kits! ‘coffee roulette’ has given us opportunity to mix with those we do not work with directly.
I started working with Verco as a Consultant six years ago while living in Bristol. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on a lot of really interesting projects – from providing technical advice to Government departments, to helping large corporate groups understand and reduce their carbon and water footprints, to being the lead engineer on more than 50 industrial energy audits around the UK, Europe, Africa and South America. Verco have supported my development and this year gave me an opportunity to estbalish “Verco - Ireland”. I have now returned to my native Cork and am proud to be leading our services here.
