Earth Day 2024

We are all passionate about reducing our impact on the planet. We are supporting earth day throughout this week with various activities.

Earth day is a global event to celebrate our planet and is a reminder of the importance of sustainability and conservation - to take action together to help the drive for a healthier planet. This year’s focus is Planet vs Plastics.

Our CSR team have devised a variety of activities for everyone at Verco to participate in and support Earth Day.

We will be taking part in the following:

Swap Swap

To encourage reducing clothes waste, we will be bringing in unwanted clothing and accessories and hosting a Swap shop event at our three offices.

Volunteering

There are many group volunteering sessions taking place on and around Earth Day, we are encouraging our team to take part in sessions in their local areas, such as litter picking and river cleaning.

Cycle incentives

We have many keen cyclists here at Verco. We will be paying our staff cycle mileage for anyone cycling too and from the office this week (In addition to the cycling mileage we already pay for business travel). To encourage lower travel emissions.

Earth Day Quiz

We will be holding an ‘Earth Day’ inspired quiz to challenge and further educate our team with sustainable non-plastic alternate prizes.

Food waste day

It’s Food waste day on 26^th of April and we’re taking the opportunity to provide tips and tricks on how to reduce our unwanted rubbish from composting to online food sharing sites.
