Verco celebrates BCorp month 2025

March is BCorp month and we have just re-certified, so have lots to celebrate!

We are proud to say that Verco has been a BCorp since 2018. We are a mission driven business, doing the right thing has been part of our DNA since we were founded in 1989, so joining the movement for using business as a force for good was a natural step for us.

Verco re-certifies as BCorp

As a business we are always striving to make a greater impact and enhance our teams work experience. We’re therefore delighted that not only have we re-certified this year, but also increased our score for the third time running. Going through verification is a great opportunity to reflect on where we have come from and look to the future – to set new objectives.

We’re celebrating re-certification with all the B’s in the office- Brownies, Berries and Bubbles!- Look out for social posts about this.

Gen B:

The theme for BCorp month 2025 is Gen B: What we are doing today for a better tomorrow.

Doing the right thing is inherent in Verco culture, we support businesses to look ahead and take impactful action on carbon reduction. We are also working on our own carbon emissions and have pledged to be net zero by 2030 through the BCorp Climate Commitment.

Since our previous re-certification, our business has grown and so BCorp month this year is a great opportunity for us to focus on internal knowledge, so that all of our teams have a shared pride in our BCorp status and an enthusiasm to work together and make even more progress. We are doing an internal knowledge share session on what it means to be a BCorp and ongoing, new starters will have optional ‘Behind the B’ training.

Each year our Inclusion and Impact team arranges opportunities for us to take part in group volunteering activities, from city farms, wildlife centres, educational facilities, woodland preservation, we’ve done a lot!

Our Bath office team are looking forward to supporting Bristol and Avon Rivers Trust (BART) in April with ‘operation river clean’ to leave one of our vital ecosystems in a better state than we find it. The team will be dressed in waders, lifejackets and protective gloves, collecting rubbish and learning about the ecology or our local rivers - preferably in good weather!

We are excited to be putting more of a focus on STEM this year, encouraging more young people to begin careers in sustainability (the more people working in this important area, the better!).

Our Inclusion and Impact team are also busy planning lots of other activities for the year, from knowledge shares, to celebrations, to awareness campaigns – so keep an eye on our social media to see more. Belonging and inclusion are vital pillars for Verco – we are always wanting to make sure everyone feels valued and recognised members of our team, whilst working on our projects that make a real impact on our world.

Look out for our BImpact report which will be published soon.
