The GRESB Real Estate Assessment results are out for 2022! With the publication of the results, you are likely to be looking ahead to next year and thinking about taking action to improve your ESG Performance and scoring in 2023. We are delighted to have provided ongoing expertise and advice to our Real Estate clients to help them achieve an average Standing Investment score of 78 out of 100, above the benchmark average of 74, for funds submitted in 2021 and 2022. Congratulations to all organisations that compiled and made a submission to GRESB this year! Participation within the Real Estate benchmark grew by 24% to 1,520. This is the highest percentage increase the assessment has seen since 2012 and the highest ever increase in total numbers. Verco feel proud to have contributed to these results, putting our extensive experience and knowledge of the assessment to good use.
As a company, Verco submitted a total of 30 funds, helping to increase the performance score by an average of 7 points across 23 funds which submitted in both 2021 and 2022. We helped our clients achieve maximum scoring in the Management Component for 11 funds and facilitated an average GRESB score of 78 for funds submitted in both 2021 and 2022 (with the benchmark average being 74).

The GRESB star rating is derived from the GRESB score and its position relative to all participants within the assessment, with 5 stars the highest rating. From the funds Verco submitted for clients, stars were obtained across 8 funds, of which 5 increased by 2 stars.
Verco supported clients across both the Standing Investment and Development benchmarks in 2022, with profound client improvements across both. Verco’s assessment advice and strategic targeting allowed clients to realise the full potential of improvements made throughout the course of the reporting period. Across numerous clients, scoring improvements of up to 21 points (+21%) were achieved in a single year between 2021 and 2022.
