Verco is supporting Plastic Free July 2024
It’s plastic free July. An important month to support and help to drive the solutions to plastic pollution. At Verco, we have incorporated plastic free processes within our company culture not just for Plastic free month, but all year round. However, we are always striving to spread further awareness and to do better.
Plastic Free July Movement
Plastic Free July is a global movement to encourage people to join together and be part of the solution to plastic pollution, so we can have cleaner streets, oceans and communities. The movement has inspired 100+ million participants in 190 countries.
Plastic Free July provides resources and inspiration to help us all to do better. From getting started, to next steps and how we can do better at work, for business and in government.
Plastic recycling is already an important part of office life at Verco.
Soft Plastic Recycling
We have soft plastic recycling bins in all of our offices. Any soft plastics used at work (or home) are added to the bin and staff volunteers take this to the nearest soft plastic recycling point.
Plastic Free Community Ally
The Overmoor office continues to be an ally for the Plastic Free Community movement, pledging to reduce single-use plastic items.
At Verco we are mindful of minimising the use of single use plastics and take action such as using re-usable flasks, cutlery, tupperware and shopping bags and avoiding plastic wrapping such as buying toilet paper from an eco-friendly B Corp.
Plastic Free July tip of the day
We are following Plastic Free July’s lead, to spread awareness and ideas of how we can all cut down on single use plastic.
We are running an ideas sharing scheme:
‘Plastic Free July. Tip of the day’
Sharing daily ‘outside the box’ ideas to raise awareness and help cut plastic from our day-to-day lives. From plastic free toothpaste to creative ways of re-using plastic packaging that we already have at home. We look forward to the creative suggestions that are to come, and are offering a prize for the most innovative plastic-free suggestion!
